Pediatric Inter-Facility Transfer Guidelines

The Pediatric Subcommittee of the Governor’s EMS and Trauma Advisory Council (GETAC) has drafted a compilation of guidelines that hospitals may utilize as their own transfer guidelines in meeting state requirements for designation. The guidelines were developed in accordance with published standards across the nation at other trauma centers as well as publications from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA). The guidelines are meant to be inclusive of pediatric critical illness as well as pediatric trauma.

Guidelines for consideration are available here and additional resources are available on the Pediatric Subcommittee website. More information will be presented at the February GETAC meeting.
