TETAF Joins Forces to Support Alternative to DRP
TETAF has joined a broad coalition of stakeholders in support of the committee substitute to HB 2068 by Rep. Phillips (R-Sherman). HB 2068 would eliminate the Driver Responsibility Program (DRP) but would replace funding for the state trauma system through modified fines penalizing irresponsible drivers, including those convicted of driving while intoxicated, while giving counties and judges more leeway to adjudicate individual cases.
A letter of support signed by the coalition is available online. TETAF encourages all stakeholders to reach out to their House and Senate members to share support for this effort.
