Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Mike Clements for a term to expire January 1, 2020, and Jeffrey Barnhart, Sheila Faske and Robert Isbell and reappointed Ryan Matthews and Robert Vezzetti, M.D. for terms to expire January 1, 2022, to the Governor's EMS & Trauma Advisory Council.
Additionally, the Governor named Robert Greenberg, M.D. chair of the council.
Michael “Mike” Clements of Cypress is a Captain with the City of College Station Fire Department. He is a member of the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters and the International Association of Fire Fighters. He also serves as president of the College Station Professional Fire Fighters Association. Clements received an associate’s degree from Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado and a Bachelor of Science in animal science from Texas A&M University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Jeffery Barnhart of Canyon is the CEO of the Lynn County Hospital District. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and volunteers as a board member of the Lynn County Chamber of Commerce, Texas Hospital Association HealthSHARE Board of Directors, Golden Spread Council of Boy Scouts of America, and as a member of the Tahoka Rotary Club. Barnhart received a Bachelor of Arts in healthcare management from Ottawa University a Master of Science in Clinical Practice Management from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.
Sheila Faske of Rose City is the owner of American Office Liquidators in Beaumont. She is a member of the Texas Auctioneers Association and the Orange, Beaumont and Silsbee Chambers of Commerce. Faske received an Associate of Science in business and computer information systems from Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont.
Robert Isbell Jr. of Midland is Chief of the City of Midland Fire Department. He is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and Midland County Emergency Communications District Board and serves as president of the Permian Basin Firemen’s Fund. Additionally, he is former president of the Texas Fire Chief’s Association. Isbell received a Bachelor of Science in public administration from Grand Canyon University and a Master of Science in executive leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Ryan Matthews of Holliday is the president and CEO of Trans Star Ambulance in Wichita Falls and is a Licensed Paramedic. He is a member of the Texas EMS Alliance, American Ambulance Association and the Texas State Firemen and Fire Marshal’s Association. He is also treasurer and volunteer paramedic for the Holliday Volunteer Fire and Rescue and is the North Texas representative for the Emergency Medical Task Force. Matthews received a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from Texas Tech University.
Robert Vezzetti, M.D. of Austin is an attending physician with Emergency Service Partners at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Emergency Physicians, Texas College of Emergency Physicians, the Texas Pediatric Society and the Pediatric Physicians Alliance of Central Texas. He also volunteers for the Vandergrift High School Viper Band and Project SAFE. Vezzetti received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Loyola University and a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
Robert D. Greenberg, M.D., FACEP of Belton is an emergency physician and associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor Scott & White and Texas A&M Health Sciences Center College of Medicine in Temple. He serves as Regional Medical Director of Emergency Services for the Central Texas Division of Baylor Scott & White. He is a member of the Texas College of Emergency Physicians, Texas Medical Association and the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is president and volunteers for the Temple Community Clinic. Greenberg received a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Northeast Louisiana University and a Doctor of Medicine from the Louisiana State University Medical Center-Shreveport.
