May is 30th Annual National Trauma Awareness Month
In 1988, Ronald Reagan recognized the need for trauma awareness and established May as the month for education and prevention activities. For the past 30 years, trauma leaders in Texas, and around the nation, have spearheaded efforts to educate the public, prevent traumatic injury and improve trauma care for all.
Past campaigns have included: Stop the Bleed, Safe Steps for Seniors, distracted driving and sports safety. This year, the American Trauma Society will focus 2018 efforts on recreational vehicle safety. Resources can be accessed free of charge online.
TETAF wants to highlight your National Trauma Awareness Month activities online and in next month's newsletter. Please submit photos and stories to our communications team.
