TETAF Rural Trauma System Development Fund Application
TETAF Rural Trauma System Development Fund Application
Established in 2024 in recognition of 35 years of the Texas Trauma System, the TETAF Rural Trauma System Development Fund focuses specifically on supporting rural trauma care in Texas.
In 2026, TETAF will provide a limited number of scholarships to reimburse rural trauma facilities for necessary education to meet trauma designation requirements. To be eligible, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
- The individual receiving the education must be employed by a current Level IV trauma center facility in Texas.
- The Level IV trauma center facility must be surveyed by TETAF. (Facilities that opt to be surveyed directly by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) are not eligible.)
- The facility is either a critical access hospital (View the definition for a critical access hospital on pages 6-7) or is a facility located in a county in Texas of less than 65,000 persons or is located in a rural area and had less than 100 trauma registry entries in the prior calendar year.
This application will remain open until all funds designated for the scholarships have been awarded.
