TETAF Rural Trauma System Fund

Support Rural Trauma Care in Texas

The Texas Trauma System was established 35 years ago with the passage of the Omnibus Rural Health Care Rescue Act. The focus on ensuring quality trauma care is available in rural Texas is as important today as it was in 1989. Together, we can continue to strengthen the Texas Trauma System by supporting rural trauma care and the TETAF Rural Trauma System Development Fund.

Established in 2024 in recognition of 35 years of the Texas Trauma System, the TETAF Rural Trauma System Fund focuses specifically on supporting rural trauma caregivers in Texas. In early 2026, TETAF awarded a limited number of scholarships to reimburse rural trauma facilities for necessary education to meet trauma designation requirements. This was the first round of funding TETAF has provided to support rural trauma care in Texas.

TETAF plans to award more funding later in 2026 and will announce this next opportunity in its newsletter and on this webpage.
